Mark's '70 442 Convertible
(sold in 1996)

My father kindly bought this as a yellow rusty muscle car in 1985. We had some great times in it through high school and summers during college. It's an original 442 with the 455 engine, 4 barrel carb. and dual exhaust. The hood mounted tach is completely after market (and my attempt to dress up the hood--I couldn't afford a replacement hood with the original air scoops). The front parking lights were replaced with orange fog lamps (that do blink as turn signals). I painted the bumpers black, which would seem like a sin, but it's in the mode of the Ralley 350, which was a 1970 Cutlass that was entirely yellow, including the bumpers. Although a wonderful car, it was never quite a reliable car, and it had some fairly substantial rust. In 1996 my father sold it after it had been sitting unused for most of four years. The new owner has a son much like I was in 1985, and hopefully they are enjoying it as much as we did.
